Quality Plan

Quality Plan for Sand Stabilization Using Soilbind Polymer

1. Objective

The objective of this Quality Plan is to ensure that the supply and application of the Soilbind chemical polymer for sand stabilization meets the highest standards of quality, conforms to the specified requirements, and achieves the desired results. This plan outlines the specific procedures and controls to be implemented to achieve these objectives.

2. Quality Management System

Our organization follows a documented Quality Management System (QMS) based on international standards such as ISO 9001:2015 (AMER11867). The QMS provides a framework for managing quality throughout the sand stabilization project.

The QMS includes processes for quality planning, quality control, and quality assurance. These processes are designed to identify, prevent, and correct any quality issues that may arise during the project.

3. Responsibilities

a. Project Manager

The Project Manager has overall responsibility for the implementation of the Quality Plan.

– The Project Manager ensures that quality objectives are established and communicated to all relevant personnel.

– The Project Manager monitors and reviews the effectiveness of the Quality Plan.

b. Quality Manager/Quality Control Team

The Quality Manager or the Quality Control Team is responsible for developing and maintaining the Quality Plan.

– They conduct inspections and tests to verify compliance with quality requirements.

– They identify and address any non-conformities and take corrective actions.

c. Site Supervisor

The Site Supervisor ensures that all activities related to sand stabilization are carried out in accordance with the Quality Plan.

– They monitor the performance of subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards.

4. Documentation

a. Quality Manual

A documented Quality Manual is prepared, which outlines the quality policies, procedures, and guidelines to be followed during the project.

– The Quality Manual serves as a reference for all personnel involved in the sand stabilization project.

b. Quality Records

Quality Records are maintained to provide evidence of compliance with quality requirements.

– These records include documentation of inspections, tests, and other quality related activities.

– Non-conformities and their resolution are documented, along with records of personnel qualifications and training.

5. Quality Control

a. Material Inspection

Inspections are conducted upon delivery of the Soilbind chemical polymer to ensure it meets the specified requirements.

– The material is checked for quality, consistency, and conformity to standards.

b. Mixing Process

The proper proportions of polymer & water are ensured during the mixing process, as per the manufacturer’s recommendations.

– Periodic tests are conducted to verify the consistency and effectiveness of the mixture.

c. Application

Inspections are carried out to ensure the proper coverage of the diluted polymeric solution on the sandy surface.

– Adhesion tests (crust thickness) are conducted to confirm the effectiveness of the stabilization process.

6. Quality Assurance

a. Monitoring

Regular monitoring of the stabilization process is conducted to ensure adherence to quality standards.

– Periodic audits are performed to assess compliance with the Quality Plan.

b. Non-Conformities

Any non-conformities or deviations from the specified requirements are identified and documented.

– Corrective actions are implemented to address non-conformities and prevent their recurrence

7. Training and Competence

a. Personnel involved in the sand stabilization project receive appropriate training on quality procedures, safety requirements, and the proper use of equipment.

b. Periodic assessments of personnel competence are conducted to verify their ability to perform assigned tasks effectively.

8. Continuous Improvement

a. The effectiveness of the Quality Plan is regularly reviewed, and necessary improvements are made to enhance its performance.

b. Feedback from stakeholders is actively sought to identify areas for improvement.

9. Documentation Control

– A controlled documentation system is implemented to ensure the availability, Compliance with Applicable Standards and Regulations:

  • Adhering to all relevant international, national, and local standards and regulations governing sand stabilization and the use of chemical polymers.
